The Silver Bayonet: Vampires and Demon

Continuing my ongoing project for The Silver Bayonet, I have again turned to AD 1666 to fill in some of the missing creatures I need for the game.  Keeping the single player scenarios in mind, it is essential that I get zombies, wolves, and vampires knocked out.  The numbers of zombies and wolves is pretty high, so instead of starting with a large group I decided to knock out the smaller group of vampires first.

The first model in the shoot was the Cardinal Richelieu from AD 1666. In that game the cardinal is a vampire and is a pretty strong character in the game. The idea of having the arch enemy of the Three Musketeers as a vampire is pretty cool, but as I have mentioned before, AD 1666 isn’t seeing any playtime. The model itself is rather dated looking style wise for Napoleonics, but the way I imagine it, there is a vampire cardinal in the woods who has been preaching to the peasants for a long time. The color scheme I based on the old famous painting of the real Richelieu that I teased in an earlier post.

The other AD1666 model I used was a demon from Eastern Europe folklore.  He must offer some deals because he appears to have a contract in his hand.  You can’t see it in the photos but one of his feet is a hoof.  I tried adding texture to the clothing to give it a more realistic look.  In hindsight I dropped the ball on the owl which ended up looking kind of unfinished.

The last two models are the awesome North\star figures for the game. I love the idea of two vampires dressed up for a ball out in the woods sowing terror. For the gentleman I clothed in a nice grey suite and a lovely, powdered wig.  The lady vampire I emulated the teal dress from the box art. I experimented again with texture on the dress and tried to give the bottom of the dress some wear and tear as I imagine a ballgown isn’t made for running through the woods. I did the skin a little different on these two compared with the cardinal model and I think it turned out better. I’ve said it many times, but these Northstar models are just a blast to paint.  Go get some!

These models painted up quick and I think they all turned out great. I have three big chunks of enemies to knock out still along with a host of many smaller groups still yet to do. Bandits, wolves, and zombies are the big three that will take a bit of time to do. I have enough models for all of them so it’s just a matter of time. IMG_3776

I have a good idea for the bandits so that will be my next part of this project. More to follow soon!
