Roswell ’98: Gas Station Terrain

This larger piece turned out a little better after some lessons learned on those other buildings. Mainly…don’t add a graffiti transfer over paper… for now anyway. Ha! As my post apocalyptic setting takes place in New Mexico, I thought it would make sense to go with a regional gas station, so Allsup’s it is.

Roswell ’98: Moar Xenomorphs!

It’s been a little quiet around here due to work and other life activities, luckily I had a simple project to ease back into the saddle. Here’s 20 1:72 “not-Alien” models from Elheim. They can be used in my games of Xenos Rampant, Fistful of Lead, Zona Alfa, Gaslands, whatever. Having 20 aliens seems like they’d have their use…

Xenos Rampant: The Bandits

“For the good old American life: For the money, for the glory, and for the fun… mostly for the money.”

The last gang I have to paint models up for are The Bandits. I was calling them “The Rockers” or “The Smugglers” earlier, but we’ll go with The Bandits for now.

Xenos Rampant: The Punks

“You think this is a f’n’ costume? This is a way of life.” – Suicide, Return of the Living Dead.

For this gang, I was thinking that maybe I’d have each model be unique in their own colors, but…nah. Unified gang colors make the models easier to paint. Plus, as they could be a unit in Xenos Rampant, probably Berzerk Infantry, I want them to have a unified aesthetic that’s better for gameplay. Besides, anyone who’s spent any time in and around punk circles has probably seen the irony in there being a bit of conformity.

Xenos Rampant: The Ninja

Almost two and a half years ago, I created a few ninja vehicles for Gaslands. At the same time, I put together some foot models to go along with those rides, but I never got around to needing them. Well, since then Xenos Rampant has come out, and we’ve started developing some light house rules for pedestrian models in Gaslands. The time was right to get some ninja on-foot models ready for Roswell ’98.

Xenos Rampant: The Martian

Here’s the main antagonists of my little Roswell ’98 setting, the aliens that have come back 50 years after the ’48 “weather balloon” incident. A lot of angles I had bouncing around in my head to use “cult” style minis from two great 20mm lines solidified in this detachment.

Xenos Rampant: The Survivors

My fourth completed detachment, and the protagonists of my little Roswell’ 98 setting are The Survivors. I recently finished painting a few units for this band and I’ve got many, many human models painted at this scale now, so this detachment could easily go beyond the standard 24pts. This post will only address the 24 though.

Xenos Rampant: Three Creature Feature Detachments

Working on Post Apoc models for my Roswell ’98 project, has lent itself to being a large stepping stone to Xenos Rampant (XR) Detachments. This week, I painted up a handful of models that flexed what where Gaslands Scenario creatures and obstacles into their own Xenos Rampant Detachments.

Xenos Rampant: Ex-Military

My Roswell ’98 project, post-apoc at 20mm, has provided the opportunity to use models for a variety of rulesets. Originally, it was designed for Gaslands and Zona Alpha. Having played Lion Rampant last summer, I became a big fan of Daniel Mersey’s rules, so with the release of his Xenos Rampant, many of my R’98 factions are going to get fleshed out a little more.
