I Finally Got My Hands On Grak And Crumbleberry!

After fairly regular begging on interwebs forums and the Facebook Blood Bowl group, I have FINALLY managed to get my hands on a Grak and Crumbleberry set. Grak and Crumbleberry were only available to purchase from Warhammer World in Nottingham and since I live in Texas, there was no way I was getting my hands on them without help. They arrived in the mail today and it is time for another unboxing!

Goblin Secret Weapons Revealed

Well, the goblin secret weapons aren’t so secret anymore. Today Warhammer Community unveiled the upcoming Forge World goblin secret weapon players for Blood Bowl. There will be a bomber, chainsaw player and ball-and-chain looney. The chainsaw player was teased previously in the Rumor Engine, with many correctly guessing the hooked chain blade to be a bad-moon shaped chainsaw.

No sign of a pogo stick player yet.

The secret weapon minis will go on sale first at this month’s Warhammer Fest event, no word on pre-order or release date.

The Bright Crusaders Are Here

When Games Workshop announced the release of the Bright Crusaders team for Blood Bowl, there was quite a bit of grumbling across the interwebs. Some people were a little irritated that with only four official teams released for Blood Bowl, Games Workshop was now releasing a second Human team. While I can sympathize with the feeling, I decided to go ahead and order the Bright Crusaders team from Forge World. Well, a couple of days ago, a box from the UK arrived on my doorstep, so here we go with another Blood Bowl unboxing.

And Behold A Pale Roller: And His Name That Sat On It Was Death

A few months ago, Games Workshop showed of the 3D modeling images of the new Deathroller mini. I have to admit, I really was not very impressed. Then not too long ago, they started showing off the finished mini painted by Jonathan Taylor-York. Again I have to admit, I really was not very impressed. Jonathan’s paint work was fantastic as is all of his work, but when I looked at the new Deathroller, all I could think of was the Christopher Nolan “Tumbler” Batmobile. It just looked like way too modern of a machine to be on the Blood Bowl pitch. With all of that in mind, I had actually decided to not buy the new Deathroller, but then the Deathroller went on pre-order and I have no self control… so here we are with another box from Forge World sitting on my desk.

Two-fer Tuesday! …But on a Friday!

Who has got two thumbs and got another package in the mail today? This guy! Two weeks ago today, Forge World put the new Griff Oberwald and the Skaven Rat Ogre on pre-order. I ordered them, because of course I did! I have a Blood Bowl addiction, remember? Well, it is now two weeks later and I have a box to open, so how about we get to it!

All Dressed Up And Nowhere To Zug!

I know it has been a while since I have actually shown a painted mini, and there is a good reason for that… I FRIKKIN HATE PAINTING MINIS. But seriously, this weekend some friends and I are taking a road trip up to Oklahoma for the annual Orclahoma Bowl/Spiky Cup tournament weekend held by the ginger badgers of the Both Down Podcast. This will be my third time to participate in Orclahoma/Spiky, and I always have a good time. The reason that this is relevant to painted minis is that one of my good friends is taking a Human team and needed some extra muscle for the tournament. He decided to take Zug, but he did not have a painted Zug mini to field, so i offered to pick up the damn brushes and help him out. So this post is here to show you that I know how to do more than open boxes! When the occasion arises, I actually can manage to paint something.

I present to you, a PAINTED Zug!

Morg ‘n’ Thorg 2017!

Well… While there is a part of me that wishes there were even more new Blood Bowl releases than we have seen in the last few months, I do have to say that there have been releases than I actually expected to see. With the way Games Workshop has treated Blood Bowl on the past, I thought we would be lucky to get four news teams over the course of an entire year. Here we are just a few months in and we have four teams and three Star Players as well as a number of extras like team dice.

Speaking of Star Players… I got another box in the mail today! Woohoo!

Another New Blood Bowl Release, Another New Post!

Two Friday’s ago, Games Workshop announced the pre-sale of the second Star Player in the Blood Bowl range. I ordered it immediately, because of course I did! After barely a week and a half of waiting, I came home from work yesterday to find yet another package from the UK in my mailbox. Woohoo!

Did I Get Another Package in the Mail Today? Yes I Did!

img_0357b

In my last couple of posts I have gone over most of the latest Blood Bowl releases from Games Workshop. Today, we get a look at the last of those releases. The day before the Dwarf team, the Dwarf dice, and the Skaven and Dwarf team were released, Forge World released the first official Star Player for the new edition of Blood Bowl. The Mighty Zug! I saw all the pre-release images of the mini and I really liked what I saw. You might remember that I had previously ordered the Halfling and Goblin Referees pack from Forge World and it took more than a little while for me to actually receive the minis. I hoped that this order would be different, and luckily for me, it was!

Have I Mentioned My Blood Bowl Addiction?

Hi, my name is Mike and I am an addict…

Blood Bowl has been my favorite game (with Mordheim following as a close second) since I started playing somewhere back around ’95 or ’96. The 3rd edition Orcland Raiders boxed set were the first Games Workshop minis I ever bought. I played them exclusively for several years before I started branching out and trying other teams. I ended up with a decent collection of minis at one point, but ended up selling off everything but that first Orc team a number of years ago due to lack of time. Then, Games Workshop stopped supporting the game and all of the minis went out of print. By the time I got back into the game, and gaming in general, the only way you could get the old Games Workshop minis was by paying insanely high prices on eBay. Over the last several years, I have spent a pretty ridiculous amount of money acquiring and in some cases, re-acquiring these minis that I always wanted, but did not have. As a result of how much money I have spent adding these old minis to my collection, I have decided to buy pretty much everything in the new release of the game. In the case of the teams, I am pretty much buying two copies of everything… which brings us to the point of today’s post. More Blood Bowl goodies!
