Just before the July 4th weekend a small package arrived in my mailbox. A small package, but a mighty player within (that’s what she said)! Our friends over at Tursas Miniatures sent us one of their custom Mighty BeerBeer miniatures to review here at Wyrd Stones and Tackle Zones.
About a week ago, I got a box from Forge World with the Goblin Secret Weapons inside. I wrote about those minis a few days ago, and intended to write about what else was in the box a day or two later, but things just did not work out that way. Life happens, I suppose. Well, last night I finally managed to sit down with the second item, and I was able to assemble some Orcs! WAAAAGH!
A few days ago, another box from Forge World showed up on my doorstep. I went through the box and took some pictures. I intended to write this post at that point, but then I unexpectedly had to drive to my home town to say goodbye to a very old friend. Now I am back at the lair, and I can finally write this post. So, without further delay… Goblin Secret Weapons!
My son and I have recently been getting into Age of Sigmar, particularly the Shadespire setting for the Skirmish ruleset. This being a new venture in gaming for me necessitated a battlefield. Since we were getting into this from scratch we needed to get terrain and mat in short order . This stuff can get pricey, so I looked around for the best value. Behold Mats by Mars.

For most Blood Bowl players the release of Death Zone Season 2 is probably something most coaches have already gotten their hands on. Alas, being a wage-slave of the Government I was banished to a remote wilderness for the past two months and barely had enough internet connection to order up some of Games Workshop’s new releases. Now that I have returned back to civilization I can finally sink my teeth into Season 2 and all the goodies it has to offer. Continue reading
When last I posted, Iron Golems had been running a Kickstarter campaign for a fantastic Wood Elf team. The campaign has gained some momentum and this includes Lucas Pina sculpting up some alternate shoulder pads and minis to provide coaches a kick ass Pro Elf team.
Recently I wrote about a crowd funding campaign that I came across from Word Forge Games. The campaign is for an Ogre team for their upcoming game, Gore Ball. I was really impressed by their renders and sample minis, and I like the fact that their Ogres look really similar in style to the current Blood Bowl Human team Ogre from Games Workshop.
A few months ago I wrote a post about a really cool Zara the Slayer conversion I saw on the Facebook Blood Bowl Community group and how it inspired me to attempt the same conversion. I usually shy away from conversions as I am not particularly good at them, but this one looked pretty simple and the results turned out much nicer than I would have expected.
Alright, in my last post I asked which mini you wanted to see in an unboxing next. I got a few responses between this site, Facebook, and Reddit, and the results were unanimous. Everyone wanted Grim Ironjaw for the next unboxing. So… here we go!
