Minotaur Pricing Confirmed

Via War of Sigmar, Forge World has announced what will be available at the Forge World Open Day. The minotaur will be 20 GBP and it will be Forge World, not a GW plastic release. Also the token packs for Chaos Renegades and Underworld Denizens will be 8 BGP each. I was hoping the two packs would be sold together, but that doesn’t look the case. Kind of seems like a lot of money for just a couple of tokens …

Full Beard Cup Previews

Warhammer Community shared some preview shots that were shared at the Full Beard Cup over the weekend at Warhammer World. Nothing particularly new, but painted versions of the new minotaur and the Underworld and Chaos Renegade tokens.

A Closer Look at My Blood Bowl Collection

Recently I was asked if I would consider writing a post showcasing my Blood Bowl collection. I have thought about it a few times, and I thought it would be fun to go through everything and catalog my collection. I figured that since I did not have any other posts planned at the moment, now would be as good a time as any to start documenting my collection. However, once I started pulling everything out, I realized that this was going to be a much larger undertaking than I first thought. I knew that I had a large collection, but sometimes you just do not grasp the full scope of how ridiculous your collection has gotten until you start to pull everything out. I may or may not get to all of this in a single blog post…

Mighty BeerBeer Unboxing: Beer Me a Star Player

IMG_3814

Just before the July 4th weekend a small package arrived in my mailbox. A small package, but a mighty player within (that’s what she said)! Our friends over at Tursas Miniatures sent us one of their custom Mighty BeerBeer miniatures to review here at Wyrd Stones and Tackle Zones.

New Undead & Necromantic Team from Star Player Miniatures on Pre-Order NOW

For those that are new to Blood Bowl, it might come as a surprise that there is a thriving independent market for “Fantasy Football” minis from various third party companies. During the years when Games Workshop halted production, and in some cases even sent Cease and Desist letters to players who even mentioned the words Blood and Bowl on their websites, these small operations kept the Blood Bowl community up to its collective eyeballs in new minis. If you think that trend has halted… or even slowed a hair since Games Workshop has put the game back into print, you are very wrong.

When last I posted, Iron Golems had been running a Kickstarter campaign for a fantastic Wood Elf team. The campaign has gained some momentum and this includes Lucas Pina sculpting up some alternate shoulder pads and minis to provide coaches a kick ass Pro Elf team.

Gore Ball Kickstarter – Campaign Update AKA Even MOAR OGRES!!! and GOBLINS!!!

Recently I wrote about a crowd funding campaign that I came across from Word Forge Games. The campaign is for an Ogre team for their upcoming game, Gore Ball. I was really impressed by their renders and sample minis, and I like the fact that their Ogres look really similar in style to the current Blood Bowl Human team Ogre from Games Workshop.

Let’s make a Pact: New Willy Miniatures Kickstarter

My local Blood Bowl league is getting a bit of a reboot in its premiere season. This gives me a chance to ditch my crippled high elves in favor of something else. After taking a beating with the elves, I must admit I’m an elf failure, unable to score in four games, but I digress, I was feeling a bit dejected. I could fall back on my tried and true humans but wasn’t really feeling it or any other teams, really. Until I latched on to the idea of Chaos Pact or Chaos Renegades as Games Workshop calls them in the latest edition of Blood Bowl.

Gore Ball Kickstarter… MOAR OGRES!

I had an interesting Kickstarter campaign pointed out to me yesterday. A company called Word Forge Games is running a campaign for new Ogre miniatures to be used with a forthcoming game called Gore Ball. Gore Ball sounds like yet another riff on the “Fantasy Football” tabletop game genre (i.e. another Blood Bowl clone), which I am not usually interested in. The reason I am not usually interested in them is because I figure I have Blood Bowl, therefore I do not really need tons of Blood Bowl-like games. However, I am interested in this Kickstarter due to the fact that the Ogre minis that the campaign will be funding look like they would fit in VERY nicely with the newest Games Workshop Blood Bowl Ogre.
