Blood Bowl: Khorne Team Coach

Another brief post during the Holiday. I’m aware I’ve yet to post pictures of my Khorne Blood Bowl team, heck they’ve been painted since September, but with the Goff Rocker in the last post, I converted up a 40K Noise Marine to be the “coach” of my Khorne team. Maybe musician models aren’t the best to represent coaches, but they are fun and I wanted to find some way to incorporate them in my BB teams. For this guy, I might go back and trim the barrel and clip off the guitar, but I’ve had a suggestion that maybe it doubles as a t-shirt cannon. Ha! Works for me. Thoughts on using Goff Rockers and Noise Marines for BB?

I’ll get that Khorne team post out soon!

Under the Brush: Aeronautica Imperialis

Wow. Was my last Under the Brush post really back in January? Sheesh. Just goes to show what kind of year 2020 has been. Even though I lost my blogging mojo for a while, that doesn’t mean I stopped painting. Well, okay, I did lose my painting mojo for a little while too. I started out great at the beginning of the covid19 lockdown, by getting lots of painting and projects done, then I had a big gap for a while when I wasn’t painting, but now I’m back again. I hope to share my projects with you all in the coming weeks.

Under the Brush: My first painted warband

20170625_010546

This is a post long overdue, the story of my first-ever completely painted warband of miniatures. I can count on one hand (technically two) the number of minis I’d painted before undertaking this endeavor: Two D&D miniatures when I was about 11 years old, and one of the plastic space marines from the 40k 2nd edition starter set. The other hand for the “technically two hands” are four of the OOP plastic Warhammer Fantasy militia I had built for Mordheim to get a feel for my painting technique.

Let’s Talk About Gaming Mats

I want to start this post with the following disclaimer: I am pretty new to gaming mats. I have used a couple of custom printed neoprene Blood Bowl pitches over the years, but that is about the limit of my experience. I have technically owned a couple of Mantic Games mats for Deadzone for about a year or so, but since I have yet to actually play Deadzone, all I have managed to use them for is as a backdrop for taking pictures of miniatures. Well, it’s officially time for that to change! Deep-Cut Studio has graciously agreed to send us one of their Space Hulk gaming mats for review, so here we go!
