While I have written multiple times on the Games Workshop wood elf team here, here, here, and here and posted about the treeman here, I promise you this is the last post I’ll write about this team. Well, mostly promise. What if I add more star players? I probably won’t … but I might. As of now though, they are 100% done. So let’s see what I’ve added since I first started this project way back in the summer of 2019.
Please excuse the terrible pun in the headline, I originally intended this to be a bonus unboxing to my treeman post, but that post started to get a little long so I decided to make this a separate one. I went to pick up the treeman I preordered on Black Friday and since the store was having a little sale I decided to browse around. You may recall I previously made an underworld denizens team, and to be honest I was really happy with the way it turned out, even though I found painting the pink to be a total chore. But playing them in my local league wasn’t so fun so I sold them off. When the official underworld denizens box came out this spring my curiosity got piqued again. How would the addition of a gutter runner change the team? And then my curiosity got piqued even more when the Blood Bowl Second Season rulebook got leaked over the summer. Additional snotlings that you can sneak onto the pitch? A choice of troll or rat ogre? I’ve also been playing underworld in a league online with Jeff, James and some other friends, which has also added fuel to the fire.
Wow. Was my last Under the Brush post really back in January? Sheesh. Just goes to show what kind of year 2020 has been. Even though I lost my blogging mojo for a while, that doesn’t mean I stopped painting. Well, okay, I did lose my painting mojo for a little while too. I started out great at the beginning of the covid19 lockdown, by getting lots of painting and projects done, then I had a big gap for a while when I wasn’t painting, but now I’m back again. I hope to share my projects with you all in the coming weeks.
Its been an unprecedented flurry of painting these past few months. Its mostly out of fear up my new schedule that is about to start completing crushing what little free time I have. Fear is apparently a good motivator as it has enabled me to keep up with the Tale of Tuesdays posts to get this extended project closer to the finish line!
I’d like to introduce a new feature on Wyrd Stones & Tackle Zones, the Warhammer Live Recap! I know not everyone has time to tune in to the free Warhammer Live streams or Twitch accounts to go back and watch after it airs, so I thought you all might enjoy a little recap of the interviews. I’ll be focusing on the streams where the focus is on Specialist Games or from the Middle-Earth team as those are what I’m particularly interested in. As I don’t play AoS or 40k I’m afraid my knowledge is rather limited to what’s going on so I’m not sure my recaps would be as beneficial.
