In 30 years of being involved with Blood Bowl…I’ve never run a Chaos team. Chaos generally isn’t a big faction of mine and the Khorne flavor of the generic Chaos team never appealed. I’m actually more of a Tzeentch or Nurgle gamer if it came to it, but Chaos in general traditionally doesn’t do anything for me. It’s ironic then that I’ve painted so much of it the past few years…

Blitz Bowl: Undead Team
In the early 00’s, I managed an Undead BB team to quite a bit of success. Winning tournaments with them in Austin, San Antonio, and Dallas. Almost 20 years later…I’m bringing the franchise to Blitz Bowl.
Blitz Bowl: Statues and Tokens
I finally got around to completing all of the necessary terrain features for three Blitz Bowl boards as well as all of my team tokens.
Ogres Thunder Their Way on to the Pitch

Many years ago when I was a much younger man with no responsibilities, I had the luck to attend the first Blood Bowl tournament held at the GW headquarters in Nottiginham. Besides playing six nail-biting games over a two day period and attempting to drink Bugman’s Bar dry, I had an exciting opportunity to be one of the first 100+ people to get my hands on the then brand new metal Ogre team.
At the time the Ogre team was something to be awed at. It offered a plethora of arms, legs, head, and bodies to help create a wide variety of poses. It also came with a new goblin model and an arm representing an ogre throwing a goblin. The models wear beefy! Being completely metal they were always at risk of drops breaking them back into their component pieces. Their size and bases also made them tricky to use on the game board. It wasn’t too long before the team was out of production and now 18+ years later a new and improved team takes to the field. Do they stack up to their forefathers? Are we seeing an ogre renaissance? Mr. White and I offer our thoughts on this new team and how we feel they stack up against their history.
Under the Brush: Tale of Tuesday Cleavedhead Barrows pt. 5
Its been an unprecedented flurry of painting these past few months. Its mostly out of fear up my new schedule that is about to start completing crushing what little free time I have. Fear is apparently a good motivator as it has enabled me to keep up with the Tale of Tuesdays posts to get this extended project closer to the finish line!
Tale of Tuesdays: Badlands Blitz – Black Orc Blockers
Under the Brush: Cleavedhead Barrows pt 4 for Tale of Tuesdays

Hard to believe that this project is still a work in progress. After decreeing that it would be completed by the end of 2017 it is still trucking along. In all fairness I had to move and leave the country for a bit which made painting impossible for a good chunk of time. Upon my return I’ve been in an out of school and my work tempo has been through the roof. Still, I try to work on the project when time allows and keeping with the Tale of Tuesdays Blood Bowl challenge, I thought I would provide an update of my progress. Continue reading
Under the Brush: Wood Elves for Tale of Tuesdays

The day after I wrote my unboxing for the new Games Workshop Atherlorn Avengers kit, I started painting some minis for the Blood Bowl painting challenge put on by Tale of Painters. If you’ve seen my post on the Blood Bowl Community over on Facebook, I’ve been playing around a lot with Photoshop trying to nail down my team colors. While my Arsenal and Codillion Clarions color schemes got lots of likes, in the end I decided to go with a Celtic inspired theme. I felt this was both sporty and fit with the nature aesthetic I felt most wood elf teams would go for. Continue reading
Blood Bowl Athelorn Avengers Unboxing

Something is about to happen which has not happened for an age … a WS&TZ unboxing! Yesterday I picked up the new Blood Bowl wood elves release, the Athelorn Avengers and thought I’d do a little unboxing for you all.
Halflings hit Blood Bowl and Blitz Bowl!?!
The GAMA trade show has finally brought us some much anticipated Blood Bowl news, and boy was it a surprise to some! Speculation had run the gambit on the next team to see the light of day and personally I will admit that I was surprised. The crew of WSTZ discusses the design of the new diminutive team and Jeff works his wizardry to translate this team onto the Blitz Bowl circuit!
